چکیده

Introduction. Myelodysplastic syndromes represent clonal neoplastic disorders characterized by hematological dysplasia, ineffective hematopoiesis, cytopenia, and increased risk of transformation to acute myeloid leukemia. Material Methods. A literature review was conducted using the following bibliographic databases: Google Scholar, MEDLINE, Kobson. The recommendations for diagnosis, classification, prognosis are based on expert opinions grounded a contemporary diagnosis in myelodysplastic syndrome. Diagnosis classification. syndrome should be detailed patient family history, physical examination, comprehensive blood examinations exclude all other causes cytopenia dysplasia. Mandatory is cytology bone marrow, marrow biopsy with immunohistology cytogenetics. 2016 World Health Organization classification used diagnosis. SF1B3 genetic analysis recommended patients suspected ringed sideroblasts p53 mutation status. Prognosis. Revised International Prognostic Scoring System (IPSS-R) score defined every order determine prognosis. next-generation sequencing could provide additional diagnostic prognostic information, particularly young transplant candidates. Conclusion. possible addition analysis.

Prognosis of myelodysplastic syndromes.

The myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a very complex group of hematopoietic disorders. The degree of complexity relates not only to the intrinsic pathobiological characteristics of the disease, but also to the group of patients whom it affects most frequently: older individuals or those who have been exposed to prior forms of chemotherapy. It is therefore crucial to develop clinical tools to ...

Myelodysplastic syndromes: diagnosis and staging.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) represent a heterogeneous group of hematologic disorders characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis and an increased risk of developing acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Accurate diagnosis of MDS can be difficult, and its classification requires evaluation of cytopenias, bone marrow morphology, blast percentage, and cytogenetics. These factors, as well as patient...

Histopathology in the diagnosis and classification of acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases.

In spite of the impressive advances in the area of molecular pathology, bone marrow morphology remains the diagnosis cornerstone to identify the various subtypes of myeloid neoplasms. Morphological examination of the bone marrow requires both bone marrow aspirate and bone marrow trephine biopsy. Immunohistochemistry of bone marrow biopsy with markers reactive in paraffin-embedded tissues repres...

A systematic classification of megakaryocytic dysplasia and its impact on prognosis for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes

BACKGROUND Dys-megakaryopoiesis is defined as ≥10 % of dysplastic megakaryocytes in bone marrow smears by the World Health Organization. However, concordance rates for dysplastic megakaryocytes between different observers is low and, consequently, evaluation of dysmegakaryopoiesis is also often discordant. RESULTS We performed CD41 immune staining and proposed a systematic classification of d...

Clinical and genetic predictors of prognosis in myelodysplastic syndromes.

Myelodysplastic syndromes are a collection of clonal hematopoietic disorders with a wide range of clinical manifestations and eventual outcomes. Accurate prediction of a patient's prognosis is useful to define the risk posed by the disease and which treatment options are most appropriate. Several models have been created to help predict the prognosis for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes....
